Sean R. Wilke serves as Senior Counsel within the Regulatory Practice Group at MarketCounsel and as an Associate of the Hamburger Law Firm, an affiliated boutique law firm providing the securities industry with unparalleled legal counsel. At MarketCounsel, his current work focuses on the regulation and compliance of investment advisers and broker-dealers.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Wilke spent three years as a compliance analyst for Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. He has also held a number of other positions within the securities industry, which include stints with a boutique asset management firm, a mid-sized securities law firm, and the New Jersey Bureau of Securities. Sean recently authored an article entitled, “Actively Managed Exchange-Traded Funds: Structure, Regulation and Tax Considerations,” which appears in the Jan/Feb 2011 edition of the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial institutions.
Sean is currently admitted to the bars of New York and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He has also passed the NASAA Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam (Series 65). Mr. Wilke earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Rutgers University and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where he was an associate of the School’s Center for Financial Services Law.
